Contractors will be installing speed humps on Stanton Road and West Fifth Street in October. After surveying residents on these streets, the Borough made the decision to install speed humps to slow traffic speeds down. There will be 3 speed humps on Stanton Road and 2 speed humps on Fifth Street. There will be signage at the speed humps warning drivers as well as road markings. The maintenance department is coordinating the signage and markings. Motorists should be aware of construction/road closures in these areas. It should be noted that these will be speed humps NOT speed bumps. The speed humps are 4″ in height at the center and are 12′ in length. We anticipate higher volumes of traffic on these roads due to the changes at the west end of the Borough and want to provide residents with safe streets.
